Position – Ruby Software Developer

What we want is a talented and experienced Ruby/Rails Developer to join our fast-growing agile team. You must be passionate about software and interested in building high-quality, innovative systems using creative solutions. You must be able to accept responsibility and be able to collaborate in a small, no holds-barred team environment. Senior positions are available.

Job Role

• Design and development of Ruby back-end applications, coding on current and future versions of our solutions and products suite
• MySQL database integration and development
• Testing and bug fixing of developed code
• Development within an Agile environment
• Work and project time estimation
• Participate in design, review and status meetings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science and/or 3-5 years experience developing, testing, deploying and maintaining web applications
• Extensive Ruby, RoR or other dynamic language experience
• Excellent Object-Oriented Design skills
• Excellent SQL skills, experience with MySQL a plus
• Deep understanding of HTTP, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, XML, etc
• Experience with source control (git, svn, others)
• Experience with TDD and related agile concepts an asset
• Experience with high-volume applications an asset
• The ability to take initiative, solve problems, and communicate effectively
