Donat Group Enterprises is looking for a Director of Development. We are a rapidly growing full service interactive agency delivering online community experiences for Fortune 500 companies. Reporting to the COO, the Director of Development is a member of the Donat Group Executive Management Team which manages the affairs of the company and ensures its operational, financial, and social sustainability.

Summary: The Director of Development is responsible for both the day to day management of a 15-20 person development team and strategic direction of both internal and external projects. Key duties include establishing and maintaining development processes, analyzing existing code bases to create strategies for code reuse and possible productization, and leveraging internal resources for research and development in exciting new directions.

Major responsibilities:

Responsible for development team of 15-20 individuals including day-to-day management and performance reviews.
Initiate process improvements, establish new practices, and document procedural methodologies.
Manage a balance between internal projects and client-lead developments.
Understand project estimation and client communication strategies.
Participate in staff recruitment and development programs.
Act as subject matter expert to clients, internal staff, and investors.

Experience:

7 to 10 years of progressive management experience in the Web Development or IT industries.
Proven track record of leading teams of 20+ individuals on successful projects.
Able to manage multiple and competing priorities through effective organizational, people, and time management skills
University Degree in Technology, Business Administration, Marketing or other related field is an asset

Technology:

Solid experience with PHP, Java, or a modern web development language a requirement.
Reasonable knowledge of web infrastructure a requirement.
Drupal experience an asset though not a requirement.
